Safe House by Jo Jakeman (Audiobook)
It is still raining as I sit to write this review for tomorrow. Not very summery at all here yet. So let’s talk about Safe House by Jo Jakeman. I read The Exes’ Revenge by this author and really liked it so when I saw this one I didn’t hesitate to give it a listen. Once again it was well worth it as I really enjoyed it.
We meet Charlie who has had her share of hard knocks. She ended up serving time in jail for giving her ex a false alibi. She didn’t do it on purpose. She just believed in the innocence of her boyfriend. Now Charlie needs to start over and rebuild a life for herself. She buys a dilapidated cottage in a remote village and tries to move on.
Even though Charlie wants nothing more than to keep to herself the people in the village are friendly and she finds that she’s being drawn into this little village she moved to. The only thing is she feels that someone is watching her and things keep happening to her. Has someone learned who she really is??? Will she ever really be safe anywhere?
I listened to the audiobook which comes in at a little over eight and a half hours. It’s narrated by Helen Keeley. I have listened to other books narrated by her and always enjoy her tone of voice and what she adds to the story.
Safe House is another good thriller from this author and I look forward to her next novel!
