% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

It’s that time of year again when things get terrifying as the nights grow colder and darker and the shadows cast by the lamps grow deeper. Whether you like it or not, things are about to get scarier now that Halloween is here. So, to get you in the spirit of Trick or Treating, we’ve put together a list of some of the scariest books for grownups. However, you should be aware that none of these spooky scary bedtime stories for adults will promote sound sleep.

  1. It By Stephen King

“It” is the best horror story ever written. It tells the story of seven kids terrorized by a bad being. “It” can take any shape that helps it find people to kill, but it often looks like a scary clown to lure children. The book deals with ideas that have made King a literary star, such as the power of memory, the effects of childhood trauma, and the strangeness that can be found behind the surface of a small town.

  1. Shirley Jackson’s Book The Haunting of Hill House

Considered one of the scariest scary bedtime stories for adults written in the 20th century, Jackson’s novel is about strange things in Hill House, which used to belong to Hugh Crain, who recently died. As the reader watches the four characters look into different strange things in the old mansion, they start to wonder if the source of the haunting is much closer to home than the characters think.

  1. The Call of Ctulhu and Other Weird Stories By H.P. Lovecraft

People who like to play video games know about Ctulhu because he was a minor character in Terraria and Call of Duty games. However, the Call of Cthulhu, a short story by H.P. Lovecraft was where it all began. After the god of a world that came before ours is found and accidentally set free, this scary story will make the hairs on your neck stand up.

  1. The Book of Legends By John King Keller

It is one of the most scary bedtime stories for adults. In this book, John King Keller, a new and interesting author, tells four amazing, scary, and fun stories that kids of all ages will enjoy. In these stories, there is a haunted bridge, creepy lights that float around, a weird kid with a hatchet, and a strange leprechaun. Each of these stories, which may or may not be true, will make you laugh, but more importantly, you will learn important things about other people and yourself.
