I just read through the description for Roller Coasters: The Life Kind and the detail that stayed with me is the one the BookTrib review [see too: BookTrib "Author Highlight"] picked out.

Rick keeps Nevaeh’s phone [and paying to keep the phone number active] just so he can hear her voicemail greeting. That’s not a plot point. That’s a whole portrait of grief in one object. He isn’t just missing her. He’s reaching for traces of her, and the trace he can still touch is a recording.

 

What stands out to me is the shape of the whole series. This is book five of your Life and Living series, and you’ve written through terror, legacy, complexity, and now loss. Each one seems [no, not "seems" but by design, with each book having its own Primary lead character, different from each prior book] to take on a different part of being alive [Life and Living].

And your author’s note at the end of the description is doing something unusual. You say if the prose feels disjointed, the flow uneven, congratulations [you got it, you saw it, you probably understand], that’s a feature, not a bug. Life is that way.

That’s a bold thing to say, and it tells me the book is asking the reader to sit inside the disorder rather than sort it out.
