Small Publisher Boycotts Amazon and Other BigCompany Booksellers
Indie publisher Adagio Press of Siesta Key, Florida is boycotting Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, iTunes and Google eBookstores because of the usurious fees they charge.

As a result of this letter, Amazon agreed to pay Adagio Press the full royalties due it from sales in November 2011. Originally, Amazon had withheld approximately 97% of Adagio’s royalties, incorrectly using obscure wording in its contract with Adagio.
Adagio’s Garner stated, “One man can, in fact, bring a bully to its knees. This is only the beginning, folks.”
Garner is now selling his company’s books directly from the Adagio Press website, using an express checkout via PayPal. In the coming weeks, Adagio will introduce a new streamlined shopping cart and PayPal checkout, allowing customers to purchase and download books within minutes, thus bypassing the usurious middleman (Amazon et al.).
