Attorney Guy Seligman Provides Guidance to Floridians Seeking to Regain Court-Ordered Suspended Driver’s Licenses

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (March 7, 2014)—Florida drivers who have had their licenses suspended due to a DUI, drug possession or failure to comply with court-ordered child support payments may be able to regain their licenses if they act quickly. After a DUI arrest, a driver has 10 days from the arrest date to request a Formal Review Hearing. If this request is not made within 10 days, the license is automatically suspended for six months with a minimum hardship period of 30 days. For those who have been found guilty of drug possession or possession of controlled substances, a license can be suspended whether they were operating a motor vehicle or not, and can result in a two-year license suspension.
