National summit on warehousing and logistic

New Delhi, (KNN) With a view to discuss the challenges and opportunities in Indian warehousing sector, ASSOCHAM is organising a national summit.

Warehousing plays a very vital role in promoting agriculture marketing and ensuring food security in the country. The warehouses in India lack in optimal size, adequate design, ventilation facility, inventory management and storage system as they have been built following the traditional norms. Insufficient and inefficient infrastructure has been a major drawback of warehousing sector.

The summit with the theme ‘Warehousing & Logistics @ 2020 – Challenges and opportunities’ is to be held on May 7 at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi.

It will discuss key issues on warehousing like government policy for warehousing development, modernization of warehousing in India, constraints and impediments in setting up of warehouses, key trends and future plans for warehousing sector, capacity building and operational efficiency, role of WDRA, investment opportunities, skilled manpower and effective management, PPP in warehousing, quality of warehousing infrastructure, fragmented market with unorganized players, integration with complete supply chain and free trade warehousing zones.

Participant’s profile includes PSU’s and SPVs, private warehouses, public warehouses, bonded warehouses, government warehouses, co-operative warehouses, container freight stations/inland container depots, cold chains, equipment providers and logistics firms, infrastructure development companies, ports and shipping industry, engineers and technocrats, international experts, funding agencies, infrastructure financial analysts, maintenance and operation managers, consultancy organisations, custom agents and IT and ITES service providers.
