As the Forklift Truck Market Grows, Certification Needs to Keep up

Ever since the first company that made something that was too heavy to lift with your own two arms, there have been forklift trucks.  They are more efficient at moving things, sometimes into smaller spaces, sometimes much higher than you can reach, but they are a need in the manufacturing facilities around the world.  With more reports coming out that show the forklift truck market is expanding more each year, the need for certified forklift truck operators could not be any more important than it is right now.

Forklift Truck Market Soars

When it comes to getting a certification to drive a forklift truck, there are many factors that come with it.  It is not about getting your license and how you can buckle up and move a 3,000 pound piece of machinery around the plant, it has more to do with all of the knowledge needed when doing that task.  Using a forklift truck to move materials needed in everyday operation for a company has become commonplace.  There are many different styles and sizes of forklift trucks as well.  According to one report, the forklift truck industry is going to reach an estimated $51 billion by 2022.  That is a huge increase between now and 2022.

Certified Drivers are Safer

Go to any manufacturing plant in the United States and around the world and you are going to see the need for forklift truck certification.  Being safe, efficient and knowing the limits of what your class 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 forklift trucks can do for you are all things that are taught during the certification process.  Certified drivers are safer and will be less likely to make a mistake that could cost your company money, or even someone’s life.  Companies that spend money to train employees quickly see the difference in workmanship, productivity and safety at the end of the day.

Class IV Forklift Trucks More Abundant

According to the market research, the most used forklift truck in the manufacturing industry is the class IV.  The class IV accounted for more than $12 billion in all of 2015 making it the most popular device for manufacturing and warehousing companies.  During that same period, the class II saw some growth and is expected to grow through 2022 by more than $7 billion.  As the Asia-Pacific parts of the world adopt the use of forklift trucks for the first time, the numbers are expected to grow very quickly.

The market research that claims the expansion is going to reach these numbers by 2022 also noted that countries like Japan, China and India are just getting used to using forklift trucks in industry.  Making companies more efficient and with more strict environmental laws, the increased need for electric forklift trucks and pallet stackers is evident.  Forklift use around the world is increasing and that means forklift truck certification must follow in order to keep companies productive and employees safe on a regular basis!
