Lost In Chicago

My wife and I took a road trip to Chicago for a couple of days to attend a mastermind. I love driving, so we had a blast driving up the scenic roads from DC to Chicago in our BMW M3. (Side note, Indiana is very flat and wasn’t the most scenic part of the trip).

So we arrived in Chicago and decided to go out and grab something to eat at a steakhouse. Since I was driving, my wife was in charge of directions, and of course that meant that were be bound to get lost.

She indeed ended up getting distracted by some cars on the side of the road and didn’t tell me we were passing our exit and that made us have to navigate some other random way to find our destination. After spending twice the amount of time it should have taken us, we finally arrived at the restaurant.

This shows us the importance of knowing where we’re going before we start our journey. The purpose of having goals and intentions is so that we can know where we are going. By knowing where you’re going, you can achieve your goals faster and avoid detours.

Some detours in life are inevitable, but as long as your internal GPS remains focused on your goals, you will always make progress even through you experience detours.

Take some time today and look over your goals or intentions. I would encourage you to review them daily so that you can make sure you stay on track and don’t get lost while chasing your goals.
