AMAZON LIES EXPOSED

A ruling made public today exposes Amazon’s egregious misleading of customers.

Over 250 Prime customers took issue with Amazon’s “Next Day Delivery” claim. Surpringly they won against the tech giant.

The Advertising Standards Authority will reportedly instruct Amazon to stop claiming that its Prime service offers guaranteed next-day delivery in the UK. The ruling is in response to complaints from 270 customers over the company’s failure to provide reliable next-day deliveries in the run-up to Christmas 2017. The ASA ruled that:

“Because consumers were likely to understand that, so long as they did not order too late or for Sunday delivery, all Prime labelled items would be available for delivery the next day with the One Day Delivery option, when a significant proportion of Prime labelled items were not available for delivery by the subsequent day with One Day Delivery, we concluded that the ad was misleading.”

The arrogant Amazon will no doubt use their highly over-priced City lawyers to launch an expensive appeal due to the fact this ruling goes right to the core of a major marketing asset. The chances of Amazon accepting this ruling are practically zero said an unnamed insider who wished to remain anonymous. Amazon will consider themselves above nation law and carry on regardless, the insider continued. Amazon’s UK Managing Director will no doubt use all of his highly placed political connections to get the ruling set aside the insider concluded.

Amazon’s immoral, and in certain instances, illegal operations have been blamed for destroying high streets and businesses across the world. This small victory, if allowed to stand, if the first crack in what has been an impenetrable wall of legal get outs. Many hope this small opening will lead to further decisions going against Amazon.

We can report exclusively that a second complaint to the ASA has been lodged on the back of this ruling involving the delivery guarantee offered by Amazon and enforced on independent sellers using the platform. A spokesperson for the group bringing the claim, Justice for Sellers, said that as no courier company or postal services actually offers any form of delivery guarantee then how could Amazon make independent sellers responsible for the actions of unconnected 3rd party operator. If sellers do not meet this unjust delivery time guarantee then they run the risk of not only losing both the product and the money paid for it but also being punished by Amazon and having their account suspended.
