Interior Specialties receives Eagle Award for work on Caribbean Beach Old Port Royale
ORLANDO, Fla. (October 28, 2019) — Leading specialty subcontractor Interior Specialties has been recognized once again by the Central Florida Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors for its exceptional work in the industry.
This is the sixth time in seven years the company has received the prestigious Eagle Award, which is given by the Central Florida Chapter of ABC for Excellence in Construction. Interior Specialties was honored among the best in the business for its work on Disney’s Caribbean Beach Old Port Royale.

Caribbean Beach Old Port Royale serves as a port of entry for Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and houses multiple dining options and amenities. As part of the project, Interior Specialties installed automated motorized shades to shield guests from intense sun while dining at an outdoor restaurant. The shades are controlled via a remote switch, but because of the possibility of wind and storms, Interior Specialties also installed a wind sensor that automatically raises the shades safely if gusts exceed 10 miles per hour.
Additionally, the company provided and installed all life-safety and fire equipment across the property, as well as bathroom accessories to match theming in eight bathrooms within the complex.
The job represents Interior Specialties’ goal of becoming a one-stop shop for commercial contractors. The company specializes in providing Division 10 and Division 12 items, including solar shades, bathroom partitions, bathroom accessories, lockers, wall protection and more on a variety of commercial projects.
