Hauser Insurance Group Joins in “Fatherhood @ FC Cincinnati” Event
Hauser Insurance Group’s notable industry leadership is matched by its strong focus on the surrounding community. Specifically, the Company supports organizations that provide diversified quality-of-life services to Cincinnati-area residents.
On the afternoon of August 28, 2021, Hauser Insurance Group participated in the Talbert House’s “Fatherhood @ FC Cincinnati” gathering. Coordinated by the Hatton Foundation, this event served as the Talbert House’s annual fundraiser for the organization’s Fatherhood Project. Hauser Insurance was honored to serve as a Mentor Sponsor, a role the Company has played for several years.
Focus on “Fatherhood @ FC Cincinnati”
The Talbert House’s “Fatherhood @ FC Cincinnati” event replaced the group’s previous Fatherhood Luncheon fundraiser. Both events reflect the Fatherhood Project’s mission: to assist men in becoming responsible, nurturing, and committed fathers.
During this well-attended three-hour get-together, area fathers and their families enjoyed a tour of the brand-new TQL Stadium. On this date, the normally off-limits club rooms and team locker rooms were open to visitors.
Families also enjoyed tasty refreshments, and some lucky attendees were awarded door prizes. Several fundraising raffles attracted enthusiastic participants.
By all accounts, the on-field activities were the highlight of the “Fatherhood @ FC Cincinnati” event. Children enjoyed the balloon artist, magician, and giant games. Soccer fans dribbled around obstacles or cones, and they also challenged themselves with goal-directed penalty kicks.
Talbert House: A Positive Influence on the Community
- in 1965, Talbert House has long been working to guide homeless men in their re-entry into the larger community. The organization was named for the late Dr. Ernest Talbert, University of Cincinnati Professor Emeritus of Sociology. Dr. Talbert was a strong advocate of community-based options compared to institutional programs.
The Talbert House’s initial halfway house opened with support from numerous private donations. Today, this respected non-profit supports primary and secondary service areas within the greater Cincinnati region. The organization actively engages with affiliate groups to provide services to a wide-ranging population.
The Talbert House’s Enduring Mission
Although the Talbert House initially limited its services to homeless men, the organization has since opened its doors to adults, children, and families. The goal is to assist clients in living safe, healthy, and productive lives.
To accomplish this goal, the Talbert House uses its suite of services to help thousands of Southwest Ohio residents overcome adverse circumstances. In 2020, the organization served more than 21,000 clients in person. An additional 96,000 clients benefited from the Talbert House’s hotline and prevention services.
Talbert House Services Overview
Since Talbert House’s clients frequently have complex needs, the organization offers an integrated care model that reflects industry best practices. To begin, clients receive services related to prevention and assessment. Where necessary, new services are identified to meet specific client needs.
Next, qualified service providers deliver targeted treatment in a supportive, easy-to-access setting. Talbert House’s goal is to efficiently provide these services in a cost-effective way. Finally, when appropriate, each client receives personalized reintegration assistance.
Five Specific Service Categories
Through an integrated services provider network, Talbert House delivers five specific types of client services. Service types include addictions, mental health, housing, court and corrections, and community care.
Note that some clients require more than one type of service. For optimum outcomes, the organization and its affiliates use an integrated approach to best serve each Southwest Ohio resident. This results in enhanced communication and better outcomes for each client.
This streamlined approach also enables the Talbert House to maximize the staff’s expertise. In addition, the organization can adjust for external influences such as healthcare service constraints.
How Corporate Philanthropy Benefits Local Communities
Insurance leader Hauser Insurance Group’s support of the Talbert House demonstrates corporate philanthropy at its best. Through the support of community-based non-profit organizations, the Company gains public relations benefits and tax advantages. In addition, these charitable efforts provide employees with an avenue to volunteer in their local communities.
Corporate philanthropy also brings benefits to the surrounding community. Large corporations and thriving small businesses alike can positively impact the areas in which they do business.
Enhanced Non-profit Services
Many non-profit organizations have notoriously small budgets, which in turn affects their scope of services. With consistent corporate support, the non-profit can expand its services menu and/or its geographic service area. This means the organization can serve more residents within the community.
Increased Workforce Stability
By supporting local social services agencies, the business can often enjoy a more stable workforce. To illustrate, a single-income employee might not be able to have a full-time job without low-cost childcare. Some social service agencies provide this affordable service within the local community.
Support from Employee Volunteers
Many employees want to support their local communities through volunteer work. By providing time and expertise to a non-profit organization, each employee helps that group to sustain its services to area residents.
