How I Found my Footing in Day Trading

I know for me trading success was not easy to come by. I too struggled for years. Starting off in a Proprietary Firm I was able to learn many nuances about the stock market and get a head start in my trading education, but not enough to get me consistently over that hump.

I always felt something was missing in my trading strategy. I was making money for a short periods of time to find that hard being wiped out by a few big losses.

After years of grueling work, reviewing and refining my trades, I created what was, at the time, the first iteration of the Livestream Trading system.

My goal with my trading was to make it as SYSTEMATIC as possible, completely eliminating emotions from my process and using chartsto determine exactly where I enter and exit trades, and most importantly, how much I should risk per trade.

This was the KEY change to my approach, where things began to shift DRASTICALLY.

Why Systematic Trading?

I know how difficult it is to trade off of a whim, with no definitive rules or direction. Listening to rumors, news, and other pieces of discretionary advice kept me in the same spot running circles.

Randomly buying the newest stock that was running on the day or jumping around from strategy to strategy was NOT producing any meaningful results.

If I wanted to break free and make the strides needed to be CONSISTENTLY PROFITABLE I needed to be systematic. No questions asked. Black and white trading with no grey area to carry doubts about what to do next.

What is Systematic Trading?

You may ask, what exactly is Systematic Trading? Systematic trading means using a specific set of pre-defined rules and criteria to validate trades.

This can include, but is not limited to, chart patterns and volume, news, redditpopularity, short interest, etc.

Every trade will have a pre-defined entry point with a profit target and risk level pre-established before entering the trade.

When you are using a systematic approach to trading, you give yourself a statistical edge in the market, which makes trading much more enjoyable, less stressful, and most importantly; more profitable.

Going Beyond on the Surface in Systematic Trading

Systematization is not just about what you do when you are looking to buy a stock. Many times, this is as far as people look.

Which is the main culprit of incessant “system hopping”. Systematic trading is the A to Z of your trading business. Yes, business.

You have to know what you trade, why you are trading it. You have to know when you should buy/sell, how you will buy/sell.
