Social media is a marketing tool. Unfortunately, over-promotion can have negative consequences.

Successful marketing on social media requires a delicate balance of relevant and interesting information for your audience, as well as the occasional self-promotion.

You naturally want visitors who missed your earlier post to be able to see it without too much effort. However, this isn’t going to work when you already have an established following.

It’s all about relevancy these days, as well as the audience and brand connection. If someone visits your account frequently or likes your material on several occasions, they’ll start to notice that you’ve been recycling content over and over again.


4. Inconsistency

Because you’re a company, you have something to offer. Social media is an excellent approach to reach millions of people all around the world. Drowning out what your company has to offer is just as bad as being overly promotional.

This is especially true if your business or company has little brand reputation to begin with. Make sure to occasionally write content that explicitly advertises your company, products, and services, especially if you have something new and interesting to offer.


6. Expecting Results Right Away

It can be discouraging to go months without seeing any significant results on your social media marketing efforts. However, keep in mind that you’re not playing a game of chance—you’re in it for the long haul.

Every move you make on social media should bring you closer to your goal. Each high-quality post builds a backlog of great content for new followers to discover, each new strategy is an opportunity to test its marketing power, and each CTA and link is an opportunity to convert potential clients.



You need to ensure that the firm thrives and survives for years to come. Thankfully, social media has made your work a lot easier. However, just because your reach has increased doesn’t mean you don’t need to devise a strategy.

Knowing what mistakes to avoid and which path you want to go in will be the key to your social media success.
