James O’Keefe was ousted in February 2023 by the nonprofit he originally founded, Project Veritas.
On 31 May 2023, Project Veritas filed a lawsuit against O’Keefe, alleging he broke a nondisparagement clause and other parts of his employment contract when he departed in February 2023 at the request of Project Veritas.

After leaving Project Veritas, James O’Keefe started a successful new venture called OMG, O’Keefe Media Group. The website states their business model is focused on, “Empowering and equipping a movement of thousands of people like you to report things that are wrong, with the support of an in-house team of elite journalists to bring factual, unbiased stories to light.”
