Venture capitalist Daniel Shin is a founder and managing partner of KingsBay Capital. This cross-border, early-stage investment firm has offices in Seoul and San Francisco. Daniel Shin maintains a home in Seoul, South Korea.

Before he founded KingsBay Capital, Daniel Shin served as BINEXT Capital’s executive director and United States venture investment manager. His tenure at this publicly traded global venture capital and private equity firm provided good preparation for his KingsBay Capital role.

In addition to Daniel Shin’s venture capital endeavors, he maintains oversight of corporate development at MCM. This luxury fashion brand debuted in Munchen, Germany and is now active in over 40 countries.

Daniel Shin has also served in multiple board and executive positions at public and private companies. He assumed these key roles at CJ, Daesung Group, Hanwha, and KT.

Besides publishing several books, Daniel Shin frequently speaks on technical entrepreneurship, innovation, and convergence. Finally, he is a respected adjunct university instructor, having previously taught Korea University students.

High achiever Daniel Shin is the recipient of two coveted awards. In 2016, the World Economic Forum nominated him as a Young Global Leader. Daniel Shin also became a Yale World Fellow, part of the former university president Richard Levin’s professional legacy.

Daniel Shin brings an impressive educational background to his business career. He earned a Doctorate of Business Administration (or DBA) from the l’Université de Paris(IX)-Dauphine, Paris Sciences et Lettres (or PSL).

Prior to receiving his doctoral degree, Daniel Shin earned a Master of Science from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Finally, Daniel Shin earned a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University at Bloomington Kelley School of Business. He augmented his education with post-graduate studies at Oxford, Harvard, and Princeton University.
