CANADA’S VETS BETRAYED BY JUSTIN TRUDEAU

Canada’s Liberal government led by Justin Trudeau has managed to provide a net savings of $1.8 billion in the next four years, by reducing pay-outs to disabled veterans. The savage cuts are a stab in the back betrayal by the Trudeau team, given that during the 2015 campaign, they campaigned on their pledge to bring back the Pension for Life.

The Pension for Life program was fairly popular with veterans of Canada’s armed forces before being replaced under the Harper government, in a cost-cutting exercise, which many actively spoke out against.

Since the campaign and the Liberal government’s subsequent reversal, veterans’ associations have described the government’s halfway solution as a “betrayal of the commitment to Canada’s veterans’ community.”

This seemingly becomes even more notable when you consider that the Liberal government has made near to no attempts to balance the budget in other areas, yet when it comes to the military.

This isn’t surprising though when you consider that the Trudeau junta aims for “evidence-based” policy, which translates to a “give the voters what they want” style of left-wing populism.

Michael Walsh, who served for seven years in Britain’s Merchant Navy, says he has difficulty coming to terms with the naivety of servicemen in the NATO West.

“There were excuses for the betrayal of earlier generations of servicemen and women. Most were conscripts so had little choice in doing their national service. Furthermore, before free access to online alternative news, the young people of Britain and the Dominions were easily hoodwinked by their since discredited mainstream media.

“Lastly, many of the earlier generations were driven into the armed forces by a lack of jobs and their being excluded from a social services support system.

What excuses for today’s young who volunteer for service knowing well the scale of their betrayal?  They see their homeless impoverished veterans yet still they blithely stroll into the recruiting offices as blind to their fate as rabbits caught in the headlights of approaching cars.”

VIDEO: Justin Trudeau looked a Canadian Veteran in the eyes and told him he was asking for too much from the Liberal government. That is shameful, and Trudeau must apologize for his insulting treatment of Veterans.
