Actress Desiree Popper: Moving Past the Fear That Comes With Career Change

Who doesn’t love the idea of changing a job they don’t like and starting a whole new experience by working in a different job and doing what they love? However, actually implementing on these actions is a completely different matter.

As much as people don’t like being tied to a job that they don’t like or find it boring, it is a lot harder to jump from one job to another- especially when you have no prior experience of changing jobs from time to time. And due to this, many people struggle under pressure and don’t go ahead with their new career choice- staying stuck in their current jobs.

On the other hand, there are also those who have taken the leap, transitioned from one job to another, and found exactly what they were looking for all along. A prime example of such a person is none other than Desiree Popper – a Brazilian-Italian actress, model, and producer who is most famously known for her acting roles in Mare Fuori, a 2020 T.V series, and Restiamo Amici in 2018.

Popper began her career as a model and found much success as she worked with brands such as L’Oreal, La Perla, Puma, Nikon, Miss Bikini, Schwarzkopf, Dolce & Gabbana. Now with a prospering career like that, most people would think she had no reason to change her career. But she did. Aside from modeling, there were other things she was also passionate about- and it was acting.

Naturally, she didn’t immediately switch careers at a moment’s notice. She took on the change with diligence and care by taking one step at a time. She started out by joining an acting school at the Academy of the Teatro Golden in Rome. And it was only after her training was complete in 2013, did she finally make a debut at the theatre in “La vita non si mai sa.” It was monitored under the supervision of Augusto Fornari- who later that year had her take part in an important role in one of his highly acclaimed works, “L’arte della truffa.”

Afterward in 2014, she continued with her theatrical career and landed her first leading role in “Uomini separate, manual di sopravvivenza”, which was directed by Claudio Boccaccini. And in no time at all, she ended up making another amazing debut in 2018- this time on the red carpet- in “Restiamo Amici,” directed by none other than Antonello Grimaldi.

From then onwards, Popper shifted back and forth from her theatrical and red carpet roles, enjoying and excelling at both flawlessly. In fact, she is currently working on another big project- the international drama series “Survivors,” which is sure to be another addition to her list of outstanding achievements.

The only way this was all possible for Popper was because she took a leap of faith and looked forward. She carefully planned out everything- and with determination, passion, and relentless hard work, Popper was able to transition from one career to the other successfully.

Her life serves as an example for many individuals who still hesitate from changing jobs- but with her as an example, it just might be time before people start coming out of their shells and reach out to their dreams with confidence.
