It was the summer of 1980, I was working on a massive painting job in southern Michigan. My girlfriend scored us two tickets to the 2nd show of the Led Zeppelin North American Tour in Detroit, Toronto being the first show.
The tour never happened, Bonham was dead, and Led Zeppelin was no more. I think she still has those tickets, unredeemed.
Songs titled ‘Stairway to Heaven’ and Rolling Stones ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ among SO many others….happen for an underlying reason. Let’s not overlook or dismiss the Stones ‘Let It Bleed’ concert at Altamont Speedway (Tracy,Calif) in 1969.
