Chinese Spy Has Change of Heart

A former spy for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has turned his life around and started to practice the spiritual discipline he once helped persecute.

The man in question wrote an anonymous article on Minghui.org telling his story. Before the CCP launched its infamous Nazi-like persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in 1999, it planted this man among practitioners as a spy.

He pretended to practice the ancient meditation discipline by reading Falun Gong books and doing the exercises, but he did not live according to the three principles of Falun Gong – truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance.

When the CCP began openly persecuting the practice, they ordered this planted “practitioner” to pretend to give up his belief, thus setting an example for the others. He did as they asked, visiting detention centers where practitioners were imprisoned, and influenced dozens of practitioners to renounce their dearly held spiritual beliefs under great pressure.

However, every time he did this, he had an attack of illness – and an attack of conscience.

“I did a lot of thinking while I was sick,” this practitioner wrote in the Minghui article. “This job was really disgraceful and so dirty and underhanded. . . . Kindhearted people were being persecuted. I didn’t want to serve this kind of government. I didn’t want to have this kind of job.”

Soon he quit his job as a spy and transferred to another department.  He remembered how happy and peaceful he had felt while among Falun Gong practitioners before, and he began to practice it again – this time for real.

Later, this former CCP spy quit the CCP altogether.

“I want to renounce evil, keep far away from the CCP, and turn to virtue,” he wrote in the article. “I want to stay true to my conscience and join the side of justice.”
