“Naked Zone” Used to Torture Falun Gong Practitioners

In northeastern China’s Jilin Prison, there is a section devoted to tormenting mentally ill inmates as well as Falun Gong practitioners who become disabled due to persecution.  This section is known as the “Naked Zone,” according to a Minghui.org article.

Jilin Prison is called “hell on earth” by its inmates, the article reported.  It is one of the many prisons and labor camps the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) uses to persecute practitioners of Falun Gong, a peaceful meditation discipline, in an attempt to force them to renounce their faith.

When the practitioners refuse, they are subjected to beatings, torture, and other forms of abuse.  The “Naked Zone” is just what it sounds like – a place where inmates are not allowed to wear clothes.

This is because some of them have been so severely persecuted that they are unable to care for themselves, according to the Minghui.org article.  To save trouble when these practitioners use the toilet, the prison guards force them to go naked.

Inmates in the “Naked Zone” are sometimes sprayed with a high-pressure hose and then given towels containing metal shards to dry off, the article reported.  The prison guards severely neglect the room, never cleaning it and only checking on the inmates every six days.

The food in the “Naked Zone” is bad, and the dirty conditions invite lice and infections.  Practitioners and other inmates are “forced to live like animals,” the article reported.

This is only one of the many incidents of cruelty that have been reported since the Nazi-like persecution began in 1999.
