Alarming New Tactic for Organ Harvesting in China

Recent evidence has emerged that Chinese police are taking the crime of organ harvesting to a new level.

According to the human rights website Minghui.org, police have been breaking into Falun Gong adherents’ homes and forcibly taking blood samples.  Police tell the victims that the blood tests are for creating a DNA database of practitioners of the Falun Gong spiritual practice.

For over a decade, Falun Gong practitioners and other persecuted groups have been held in camps, severely tortured, and given blood tests to determine their eligibility for organ donation. When someone in China needs a donor, a prisoner of conscience is killed and the organ taken.

Despite international condemnation, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) shows no signs of stopping this practice.  Instead, they seem to have expanded their database of organ “donors” outside the labor camps, according to the Epoch Times.

“These tests are presumptively for organ harvesting, unless the authorities provide an alternative explanation, which they haven’t done,” international human rights lawyer David Matas told the Epoch Times.

“They only needed the practitioners in the labor camps to keep them as an organ donor bank. If authorities can have that, then they don’t need to keep the practitioners in detention,” Matas added.

“This is a truly alarming development,” China analyst Ethan Gutmann told the Epoch Times.

“Could be just a scare tactic,” he added. “Practitioners in China are surely aware of the significance of these sorts of tests.”

“The problem is that even if it is a scare tactic, history shows that scare tactics may become reality,” Gutmann said.
