Why They’re Calling it the CCP Virus

It’s had many names—SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus, Wuhan virus, China virus, and a few less savory terms. A lot of people just call it “the virus” because there isn’t anyone anymore who doesn’t know which virus we’re talking about.

Then there’s another term that’s been proposed—the Chinese Communist Party virus, or CCP virus.

Wuhan virus and China virus are geographically accurate terms, a standard way to name a virus. But calling it the CCP virus points to the reason for the pandemic: The CCP’s early coverup of the virus allowed it to spread around the world.

Whistleblowers began to warn the public about the new kind of pneumonia in Wuhan in late December 2019, but CCP authorities silenced them. As the virus took over the city, anyone who documented the true situation in Wuhan was “disappeared,” while only state propaganda was allowed.

Then, in what can only be considered an intentional attempt to infect the rest of the world, the CCP shut down domestic travel from Wuhan while permitting flights to other countries. Many Chinese travelers from Wuhan visited family around the world for the Lunar New Year in late January 2020, but Wuhan residents were forbidden from traveling inside China.

Beijing was especially well fortified against travelers who might be infected, which showed the regime leaders’ concern for themselves.

Since the CCP took power in China, it has shown a complete disregard for human life, even killing tens of millions of its own citizens during peacetime.

Given the nature of communism since its inception in the world, and in particular the CCP’s aggressive territorial pursuits, unfair trade practices, intellectual property theft, and cold war propaganda, it should come as no surprise that the CCP has now weaponized a deadly virus.

The CCP has tried to keep quiet the current state of the virus in its own country. In recent months, it has been hard hit by waves of the virus, implementing desperate, draconian lockdowns to try to wrest control of the situation.

In some cases, entire villages have been dragged off to quarantine centers, women screaming and children crying, with crops and animals left unattended. Cities have been put on lockdown in which people are not allowed out of their homes, even to go shopping. Promises of food deliveries have fallen short.

The term “CCP virus” is an accurate description.

An Epoch Times editorial points out that the name “CCP virus” is necessary “to distinguish the victims from the victimizer.”

The editorial states, “The people of Wuhan and of China are the victims of the CCP’s arrogance and incompetence, expressed in this viral pandemic.”

As a result of the pandemic, websites such as EndCCP.com and RejectCCP.org have sprung up, collecting signatures to condemn the Chinese communist regime for its crimes.
