Timing and media leaks fuel feeding frenzy

Something is terribly wrong as Bishopsgate unfolds.
Early Saturday, VirtueOnline became aware of the fact that The Episcopal Church was supposedly filing charges against nine members in good standing of the Episcopal House of Bishops using the revamped Title IV canons as the weapon of choice.
Two e-mails, dated Thursday, were being circulated from Bishop F. Clayton Matthews the Episcopal Church Intake Officer for the Disciplinary Board for Bishops. One e-mail informed retired South Carolina Bishop Edward L. Salmon, who is now the Nashotah House dean; and retired Springfield Bishop Peter Beckwith that they were in violation of Title IV Canon 6 Sec. 3 & 4 of the Constitution and Canons of the Episcopal Church because they signed affidavits in opposition to a motion for Summary Judgment made by representatives of The Episcopal Diocese of Quincy and The Episcopal Church in the Fall of 2011 to secure the Diocesan financial assets from a breakaway group, and that in the next few weeks a disciplinary process would be initiated against them.
