23 Minutes in Hell vs. All Day in Hell

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

23 Minutes in Hell,

Perhaps some of you have heard of Bill Weise and his 23 minutes in Hell.

If not, you can YouTube “23 minutes in Hell” and /listen to Bill tell about his experience.
However, for the purposes of this article, let me briefly give the synopsis:

He was a Christian and he was “saved”.  [Parenthetically, it cracks me up when Christians say that they are “saved”, because you aren’t saved until you are in heaven.]  He had an out-of-body experience or vision, which lasted for 23 minutes.

In the out-of-body experience, he was sent to Hell.  He was told if he was to actually die at that moment, he would be sent to hell.  Why?  Because he didn’t know God.

Now, that’s all well and good, but I have a problem with Bill’s answer to that experience.

The funny thing is that Bill really knows his Bible really well and he quotes the Bible all the time.  For someone who knows his Bible so well, he has no idea how to get to know God.

Bill’s answer to the quandary of how to get to know God is:  PRAY.

WRONG!

The Bible is quite clear on how one gets to know God.  In fact, it was Jesus who was quite clear on how to get to know God.  It is ALSO clear how NOT to get to know God.  Matthew 7:21-24 reads:

“[21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

“[22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

“[23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

“[24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.”

You don’t get to know the Lord through prayer.

So, HOW does one get to KNOW GOD?

Try reading the parable of the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25.

May we all get to know God, so that we don’t have to go to hell.

[Parenthetically, I have had my own out-of-body experience, and God sent ME to Hell.  I don’t ever want to go back.  And I don’t wish for anyone to go there either.]

I couldn’t tell you exactly how long my experience was.  For all I know, it lasted all day.  Prior to my experience, I was a devout, baptized Christian as well.  I knew that suiciders went to Hell, but I wanted desperately to die.  I was so depressed and despondent at that time in my life.  Finally, after several weeks of me praying every morning before going to sleep [I was working graveyard shift] for the Lord to take me in my sleep, He took me.

But, luckily, it wasn’t permanent.  He took me and showed me where I would end up had I died at that moment in time.

What I experienced there is a topic for another article, but suffice it to say that I stopped praying for death and got on with my life.

Here’s to Life.  May we have it more abundantly.

Yours,

Leon

Another fairy story to scare you. If this where real Satan would be more loving anyways. He accepts us the way we are, God is cruel and a controlling ahole.

      • AnonymousShaman

        @Dregone,

        I wrote, “…would be sent to Hell…”

I didn’t say WHO would send us (me, anybody) there. Actually, it is NOT GOD that sends anybody to Hell. We send ourselves to Hell.

And, there isn’t just one particular “Hell”. My “Hell” was different than Bill Weise’s “Hell”. Why? Because each person’s “Hell” is tailored to each person’s vice on in Mortality.

Actually, after listening to Bill Weise’s own account of his 23 minutes in Hell, it became obvious to me that he NEVER went there. He spends the first 30 minutes trying to prove to people that his experience was real. He’s even got his wife in on it (or he’s got her fooled to). Anybody who has REALLY been to Hell (as I have) doesn’t need to quote a hundred scriptures to justify or prove that he/she has been there.

I think that Bill Weise’s account is fictional, but I can’t prove it. It is just a gut feeling that I have from listening to the guy. He does NOT speak with conviction, but rather from a defensive standpoint (always trying to prove with scripture that his account was accurate).

I don’t need to prove to anybody that my experience was REAL! Take it or leave it, no skin off my back. And I won’t be writing any books about it either (as Bill did, clearly to make a profit).

Dregone, your take on God and Satan is not unique. I have thought about it myself (as have many others). The God of the Old Testament certainly does not seem like the kind of God that I would like to spend eternity with. No way! Satan was just trying to enlighten the humans (Adam and Eve representing all humans living at that time). And, for giving the humans light and knowledge, “he” (they?) was/were punished (expelled from the “garden”).

The “garden” is clearly a metaphor for the center of the galaxy…. four river representing the four arms of the milky way.

So, in essence, along came some superior beings (“Elohim” being plural) and they spliced their DNA with terrestrial hominids (big foot possibly), to create us. Then, along came the Satans (serpents) to enlighten humankind, and what happens? They get kicked out of the federation of planets in the Milky Way Galaxy for interfering with the natural development of an alien species (ironically the exact same thing that the Elohim did; two-faced bastards!)

What I’m saying is that I do NOT believe in the Gods of the Old Testament (as being the one and only “GOD”). I still use the word “GOD” for it’s etymological foundations GOD = GOOD.

John tells us that God is Light and God is Love. I agree with those definitions of God, and that’s how I define God as well.

I say, God is light and love, and God is good.

This is getting too long. Let me sum up:
        (1) God is the personification of goodness, light and love.
        (2) Satan is the personification of evil, darkness, and hate.
        (3) Heaven and Hell are of our own making (according to our deeds) as Jesus clearly taught.
        (4) Hell is REAL, but it is a punishment that fits the crime. My crime was selfishness, so I was sent to a place full of like-minded spirits: All Selfish.

Again, I say, “…was sent” but it’s more like this: we go to a place that matches our vibrations. My vibrations were of a selfish frequency, so naturally, when I left the body, I went straight to that vibrational existence. I wasn’t pulled or pushed there. I was just there.

        Cheers,
        Leon

When people want to make fools of themselves; get out of the way, and enjoy the show!

      From the article:

“You don’t get to know the Lord through prayer”

You get to know the Lord by abiding in His presence. To get into His presence, you have to enter through His gates with praise and thanksgiving. Enter into the Most Holy of Holies in heaven through prayer and worship. The Father seeks those who worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. For more on prayer, see:

      /spirit/2013/03/invoking-angels-to-protect-you-and-your-loved-ones-in-these-troubled-times-2475866.html

      • AnonymousShaman

No offense, brother/sister, but you are wrong.

Don’t get me wrong, I think prayer is great, but is NOT the way to get to know God (nor to be known of God).

Let’s take the scripture that you quoted (without giving the reference):

“The Father seeks those who worship Him in Spirit and Truth.” (John 4:23)

Okay, I’ll go with that, but what IS worship? (See this is where most Christians err).

“Pure religion [worship] and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27).

[See Strong's Concordance of the Bible. The Greek word translated as "religion" should be "worship"]

Worship = visiting the fatherless and widows in their affliction!

Worship is NOT spending time in a church building on Sunday singing praises to the Lord.

Jesus NEVER asked for our praise. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!

Actually, he asked for our service. He said that the servant was the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, not the prayer.

        Conclusion
If you want to worship the Father, go out and visit the fatherless and the widows and help them out! And that’s how you get to know the Father and the Father gets to know you.

        • am123

“Worship is NOT spending time in a church building on Sunday singing praises to the Lord.

Jesus NEVER asked for our praise. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!”

I never said in a church building. Go into your prayer closet at home. And Jesus taught us how to pray: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name….that is praising the Father.

According to the Bible our lives/souls are immortal, it’s just a question of where you exist after you’ve died. In which case it wouldn’t matter after X amount of time. Any eternal existence would become a hell sooner or later. I’d give myself a couple of thousand years at the most before begging for oblivion from the sheer boredom and monotony.

How about you? A million years, a billion, a trillion??? Would we even remember we were once a human being after a thousand years let along trillions of years, I have my doubts.

Eternity is an effin long time to exist, and a ridiculous pointless punishment in a hell for all eternity based on our piffling short lives on Earth, where we are mostly just muddling through under difficult circumstances, and seeing as there is no remission, it’s only purpose would be for gloating purposes of those not in hell, which would make those not in hell equally vile.

It’s got to be the stupidest claim of all time.

You can tell how it’s been politicised from the original Horus version were everyone is redeemed, and evil made good. The political thought and belief intolerant dictatorship religions would have it that only if you are a member of ‘their’ club. Elitist political codswallop of a political dictatorship, only politics needs a consensus to operate.

      • AnonymousShaman

        @Pix,

The Bible appears to contradict itself. Everlasting punishment? Then, why did Jesus descend into Sheol (Hell) after his death to preach?

The Apocalypse of Peter (and apocryphal book) states that Hell is NOT a forever state.

Nor do I believe that so-called “Heaven” is a place of forever residence.

While there is very little evidence for reincarnation in the Bible (as we have it today), there IS some. For instance, upon seeing a blind man, one of Jesus’s disciples asked: “Who sinned that this man was born blind? He or his parents?”

That means that the people of Jesus’s time BELIEVED in a former life…. a life wherein the man COULD HAVE SINNED! Since you can’t sin in heaven, they were NOT referring to heaven. They had to have been referring to a previous incarnation.

        I believe in reincarnation.

What happens in between incarnations is either “heaven” or “hell”.

        Take your pick, Pix!
