The Hypocrisy of Opposing ISIS

We are all horrified by the images coming out of the Middle East and the brutality that is being carried out by ISIS/ISIL jihadists, coming out of Syria. Iraqi Christians have been singled out for conversion or death, or subjugation by the jihadists. Beheading children, crucifying teenagers, murdering fathers and husbands, raping and enslaving mothers and girls, are all part of the vicious tactics of a heartless, terrorist ideology.

AMERICA’S HYPOCRISY!

While there is no excuse of the brutality that’s being carried out in Iraq, what we fail to see if the moral hypocrisy that ought to be a scandal in America. Yes we should, and hopefully will, stand up to the jihadists, but doesn’t it seem hypocritical? Why? In Iraq there are foreign invaders brutalizing and beheading children. In America we brutalize and behead our own children! Surgical abortion is nothing less horrific or less brutal than what we see happening to the children in Iraq, only WE ARE DOING IT TO OUR OWN CHILDREN!

The sad thing is America has become so morally obtuse that they can’t comprehend the hypocrisy. Apparently, in this twisted moral scheme, viciously killing children is wrong when other people do to other people’s children, but it’s perfectly okay if we do it to our own. This is the logic of PP and their ilk.

We should stand up to injustice wherever we find it, but we lose all moral credibility and authority when we act hypocritically. With God’s help we will put an end to the injustice at home and abroad.

A MOMENT OF MORAL CLARITY

Before we get on our moral high-horse, we should inspect our own conscience. We must fight for the innocent, pre-born children as well as the innocent Iraqis. This moment of moral clarity should be humbling and sobering, and yet inspiring and invigorating.
