Russian warplanes send ‘great power’ message: NATO
Russia’s recent military flights into European airspace are meant to demonstrate to the West that the country is a “great power,” according to NATO’s supreme allied commander.
Although there has been an increase in Russian air activity over Europe during the past year, last week marked the first time Moscow had sent in larger formations of warplanes.
General Philip Breedlove said, “My opinion is they’re messaging us. They’re messaging us that they are a great power,”
US Imposes New Visa Restrictions on Close Allied Countries
The US is imposing tighter visa restrictions on travelers who are from countries not requiring visas.
The restrictions are directly related to concerns about militants who have fought in Syria.

Mexico mayor, wife detained in case of 43 missing
Federal police are holding the former mayor of Iguala, Mexican. Officials say he ordered attacks on teachers’ and college students that left six dead and 43 missing.
Jose Luis Abarca and his wife, were arrested in Mexico City without resisting, More than a month after the attacks, Mexican authorities still have not determined the whereabouts of the 43 students.
Court rejects Obama housing bias rule as ‘wishful thinking’
A federal judge on Monday threw out a housing regulation issued by the Obama administration that said racial bias claims can be based on seemingly neutral practices that may have a discriminatory effect.
District Judge Richard Leon said the Fair Housing Act allows for only direct discrimination claims and not those based on so-called disparate impact allegations. Leon wrote that the administration’s view that the language of the Fair Housing Act assumes that disparate impact claims are permitted “appears to be nothing more than wishful thinking on steroids.”
