Christian Colleges Under Attack

Christian colleges are now facing a new threat to their institutions… allow homosexual behavior or be stripped of accreditation. The New England Association of Schools and Colleges is threatening to strip Gordon College, a Christian university founded in 1889, of their accreditation unless the college accepts “homosexual practice” by it’s students.

Gordon College, like most Christian colleges, has a behavioral code for its students, which includes abstaining from any sexual intercourse – heterosexual or homosexual; premarital or extramarital – outside of the marriage covenant. The code of conduct only refers to homosexual acts, not same-sex attraction. This allows students who might struggle with homosexual attraction to attend the Christian college, but, like all students, they must refrain from all sexual acts outside of marriage.

Still, the accreditors believe this policy is unacceptable. They have given Gordon College one year to revise their behavioral policy to allow homosexual behavior on campus. If Gordon College refuses, then their accreditation could be stripped along with any federal funding.

TAKE ACTION:

Contact Gordon College and encourage them to stay strong and hold to the Biblical teaching on the destruction of homosexual behavior. Then contact New England Association of Schools and Colleges and demand that the respect the religious liberties of Christian universities.
