Should Christians Mock Mohammed?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

This week, American hypocrisy has been on full display after the death of two Jihadi Muslims in Texas. The men were killed after they opened fire at an event in Garland Texas that featured a contest for drawing the “prophet” Mohammed. Muslims consider depicting Mohammed to be blasphemous.

Last January 7, Jihadi Muslims murdered 12 people at the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris because they published cartoons of Mohammed. Liberals all around the world, including in the U.S., rallied to condemn the murders. Tens of thousands marched holding pencils and demonstrated with signs saying, “I am Charlie.” Now Muslim murderers in Texas fail in their attempt to murder cartoonists and liberals tell us we’re supposed to blame the artists. This is a vast display of liberal hypocrisy.

Pamela Geller, the founder of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, sponsored the draw Mohammed cartoon contest. Now she has been threatened with a fatwah or death sentence. So here’s the question? Why are people attacking Geller for exercising her First Amendment Right to free speech?

Some argue the event was an unnecessary provocation. Others appeal to Christ’s teaching of the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” We wouldn’t want them to blaspheme Christ, so we should not insult their prophet.

Does the Golden Rule mean we must give in to Islam’s demand not to tell the truth about Islam and Mohammed? Absolutely not. The Golden Rule is a great, general moral principle, but it’s not an absolute rule for every occasion. Why? Is it ever right to punish those who do wrong? Certainly, otherwise this world would turn into a living hell.

When people are sentenced to jail for what they’ve done wrong, do they usually thank the judge? We don’t say, because I would like to get away with breaking the laws, therefore we must going let everyone one off Scott free. The standard for what we ought to desire for ourselves is not found in our sinful ideas and impulses, rather it is found in God’s Word. We do not follow the golden rule and treat the criminal the way he wants to be treated, we treat them according to standards of justice.

We are correctly told to speak the truth, debunk lies and false ideas. But the person we correct might become angry or embarrassed, so do we shut up? No. Love rejoices in the truth. If our ideas are evil like Mohammed’s or our ideas are wrong then they must be confronted. The Golden Rule does not handcuff us from exposing the lies of Islam just because they are offended. In fact, the golden rule requires the opposite of what Islam demands. We ought to desire someone tell us about Christ and how Mohammed is a false prophet. Unloving silence about Christ damns them to eternity in hell. We can’t be held hostage by Islam’s false standards.

There is a transcendent standard of truth and conduct revealed by God in the Bible and nature that is above the feelings of people, including Muslims and their false doctrines. There’s the rub. Muslims have a false standard that says you can’t draw a picture of Mohammed. The Bible simply says we are not to make and worship idols. Exodus 20:4-5: “You shall not make for yourself a carved image… you shall not bow down to them nor serve them.

Mohammed is not God, therefore drawing a picture of him is NOT wrong, no matter what Islam says.

Some argue: “But if we talk about Islam, we have to do it in a Christ-like manner!” Certainly, but what this statement usually means is that we have to do communicate in a way most people consider to be a non-offensive. Is that truly Christ-like? We often forget Jesus, with great courage and a fierce zeal for His Father’s glory, angered the false religionists of His day by his words and actions. Jesus singlehandedly cleansed the temple in the power of the Holy Spirit. (John 2:15: When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple…) They got so angry they wanted to kill him so Jesus exposed their intentions. (John 8:44: You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning…) In Mathew 23, Jesus calls the false religionists fools, hypocrites, blind guides, whitewashed tombs, murderers and a generation of snakes.

Christ’s absolute claim of allegiance offends and divides people. Even our most precious family loyalties have to be subjugated to His higher authority! (Matthew 10:34: Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.)

The Golden Rule is not broken when we declare the truth, rather it is established. Why? Because we should want people to tell us the truth. Aren’t you glad someone loved you enough to declare your need to repent and believe on Christ so you might be saved.

Still, some say: “But we can’t use satire to communicate truth.” Remember the story of the prophet Elijah? He made fun of the prophets of Baal? Elijah taunted them asking if Baal had gone somewhere to relive himself because he certainly was not hearing their prayers. Do we love Muslims enough to expose them to the truth in spite of their murderous threats? Sarcasm and parody can cut through when simple reasoning does not. By the way, you do know that Mohammed had two people assassinated because they wrote satirical poems about him?

“But aren’t we supposed to just roll over and be persecuted?” No, we’re NOT! Christians, along with all people, have rights; God-given rights. Remember when the Apostle Paul was preaching in the temple in Jerusalem? A mob became violent and wanted to kill him. A Roman soldier was preparing to torture Paul, but the Apostle in Acts 22:25 rebuked the solider saying, “Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and uncondemned?”

Paul demanded his rights of due process and eventually appealed his case all the way to Ceasar. We all have a god-given right to tell the truth. Drawing Mohammed is not wrong before God nor should it be before man. Pamela Geller has the God-given right to sponsor cartoon contests that poke fun at Mohammed anytime she wants. Christians ought to be the ones leading the way to defend her, even though she is not a Christian. Why? Because Islam in America is going to become more demanding and more violent. They always do wherever they’ve gone for the last 1400 years. They’re hell-bent on a mission to convert you, subjugate you or kill you. It’s exactly what Mohammed did and what he commanded all Muslims to do.

So Christian, here’s the challenge. Do we love our Lord, His Gospel, His church and our children and grandchildren and our neighbors enough to stand up to Islam? Are we so craven and cowardly that we’ll give up our precious god-given rights to these satanic tyrants?

Imagine with me for a moment there is a community filled with children. They’ve been playing on the playground just fine for years. Then a new family moves into town. The new family thinks they are better than everyone else. Their kids start telling all the others they must obey their bizarre rules or else get beat up. What if all the kids got together and stood up and said, “We will not be bullied or submit to your rules.” Does that make the kids of that community into bullies? No! But that’s what the politically correct say we are doing when we stand up to Islam.

The Muslims want Christians to be neutralized, either by fear or false guilt. The fearful demand we appease the Muslims, even as they grow more demanding. It is not Christ-like to lay down ours and our children’s Christian liberties to appease a wicked religion. The whole event in Texas has exposed Islam in America for the vicious movement it is. Will we you lick the boots of Islam or demand your government do its job and protect us from these murderous Jihadists? Is this really the land of the free and the home of the brave? We will soon see.

As Americans we are all Pamela Geller and we MUST stand up and condemn Mohammed and Islam. They declared war on the world 1400 years ago, they are at war with us now. The whole stinking camel of Islam is in our tent and the sooner we admit it and respond to it the better. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord Jesus, and him alone will we serve. What about you?

Remember, love rejoices with the truth! Jesus is THE TRUTH!

what kind of question is this?
should people act like a**holes? no, they shouldn’t.
if you want to see mocking, research how the israelis mock jesus and his death and claim he is boiling in excremnt in hell.
there’s some mocking you should be talking about, defendchristiansdotorg, aka zionist apologistsdotscumbag.

No. True Christians wouldn’t even think about mocking anyone.

Below are 5 Bible verses about the importance of loving your enemy:

Luke 6:27 – “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.”

Exodus 23:5 – If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying down under its burden, you shall refrain from leaving him with it; you shall rescue it with him.

Acts 7: 60 – And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Ephesians 4:32 – Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Mark 11:25 – And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

And more to the point: Mark 12:30-31King James Version (KJV)

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

More to the point, reverendsky, why are you trying to sell political correctness in the name of religion? Not being mocked is the prerogative of God.

Is there not a mocking tone throughout Proverbs 26? Did David not mock the big Philistine, Goliath? Did Joshua not mock Jericho?

    • FindtheTruth

No one should mock anyone. It’s just wrong.
