The Holy Spirit impressed upon my spirit that this topic needed to be presented THIS WEEK. I was set to publish another article, but I have to listen to GOD!
Yep, this one’s going to get some high remarks! But, before you go off on me, I have no intention of calling anyone any names, nor am I judging. This is a subject which is obviously a very ‘touchy’ one, and boy, oh boy…do we know that people have been very emotional in the past couple years.
This is an observation and others are noticing it too, not just myself. All one need do is get behind the wheel of a car! My husband said he thinks I am like a magnet to all the people who have road rage.
CONSCIENCE
1. the inner sense of what is right or wrong in one’s conduct or motives, impelling one toward right action:
to follow the dictates of conscience.

2. the complex of ethical and moral principles that controls or inhibits the actions or thoughts of an individual.

3. an inhibiting sense of what is prudent:
I’d eat another piece of pie but my conscience would bother me.
COMPASSION
1. a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.

1 in 25 People Have No Conscience?
That’s what statistics seem to reveal! That’s a huge number. So, a person without any conscience is called a “psychopath”. This is a title given to those by a psychologists.

MIT suggests:

Psychiatrists and neuroscientists are making extraordinary advances in understanding the psychopathic or sociopathic mind, a mind that lacks empathy, compassion, fear, or remorse. In some of the most exciting research, advanced brain-imaging techniques are revealing that certain sections of psychopaths’ brains seem to be misfiring.

Psychopaths have no empathy. They are said to only feel the basic emotions such as anger, hatred, lust and very basic fear. But why? Their limbic brain is not working properly.

Get this!
In psychopathic patients the sections which generate feelings of empathy…remain DARK! Actually showing little or no activity.
Similar defects appear in the frontal cortex, (reasoning center) which is the part of the brain which regulate impulsive and irrational behavior.

Of course. NOT EVERYONE demonstrating these brain abnormalities ends up being a killer!

And not all killers are psychopaths!

Of course, some people have broken families where their emotional development was impaired…or other kinds of trauma took place. And even so, they may just have emotional issues with trust, or whatever.

Now, most people know someone who have the three traits suggested. Charm-Use-Discard. And even still, they are not considered automatic killers!

But, these kinds of people in question are said to have….”dead fish eyes”. Like your staring into a black hole.
Wheeew! Now that we established that…moving on.

Why did The Holy Spirit impress upon me the need to write this?

I just got the whillies! You know, the goosies? Where the hair stands on end. Because the thought was…does this DARKNESS imply ‘evil’? Makes sense, doesn’t it?

It reminds me of the occasional news story of the neighbor who says, “He seemed very normal to me, just kept to himself is all.” Another statistic? There are more men psychopaths than women. Books from Robert D. Hare (who actually has ‘checklists’) which struck me (another whillies/goosies moment)…the “Sociopath Next Door”.
You just never know, right?
There is of course clear evidence that psychopaths are different from other people, in their behavior, thought processes, and language.
Lack of compassion being one of these checklist points.

The TRUTH?
GOD didn’t create killers? Or psychopaths!
When HE created humans, HE gave them and all other creatures the right to have free will to do whatever they please, with consequences. GOD does not make a person sin…the person chooses to do so. So, serial killers would be breaking one, if not many of the 10 commandments.

I personally know someone from my past and her son, who was diagnosed with cancer. She told me that she stopped believing in GOD because how could GOD give an innocent child cancer! And even though I couldn’t give her a good answer at the time, now I realize that GOD have a reason for everything. We are given trials and tribulations as a stepping stone. Growing is part of GOD’s Plan. Before you freak out….no, the boy did not die. So, how do you perceive this?

Is there a point in time where the ‘normal’ person turns into a psychopath? When does the brain go “dark”?

Is this trend increasing? People going mad? Is that why the world is turning dark? How do we protect ourselves? Do you know someone with “dark” eyes? If so, what do you do?

Does society have a role in this subject? Television programming play are part? Interactive video games?

We’ve all heard of the people who said, “GOD made me do it” or “The Devil made me do it”.

Is sin just a universal human problem. Universal? Yes. Just human? No. The angels also decided to sin. Lucifer’s pride got the best of him and he decided he was not going to follow GOD. The Scriptures tell us he took 1/3 of the angels with him. Satan did all this by directing and influencing emotions, feelings and desires.

All creatures of GOD have the ability to choose/free will choice.

Sin springs from uncontrolled desires.

1. GOD can forgive ALL sinners.

2. Becoming a follower of Jesus Christ does not impart perfection. Humans commit crimes, Christians are human, Christians do commit crimes.

3. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
