Feeling nauseous? Hold on to this!

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Providence seems to have given us the Republican candidate for the President of the United States. This is disappointing to many of the faithful, but what does it mean? Here are a couple of biblical anchors to hold on to in the midst of a sea of shock and disillusionment. God is not surprised.

He knows the end from the beginning and has not been caught unaware. In fact, our Almighty God, creator and governor of all things, has ordained whatsoever comes to pass. In the greater purposes of His wise and sovereign plan we can trust His hand, because in Christ we know His heart and His promises: He does all things well for His own glory and for the good of His people.

We have already been told the end, so we can’t let our hearts remain troubled. Christ will ultimately receive all the glory due His name. All his enemies will be under His feet. That is the most important and surest thing in the universe. So, in the long run we are optimistic, but not foolishly so.

For two thousand years Christ has reigned at the Father’s right hand, far above all powers and principalities, both in heaven and on the earth. Satan was defeated at the cross and humiliated by Christ’s resurrection. He can no longer deceive the nations as he had for millennia before Christ’s triumph.

The Gospel has gone forth with power through His body the church. Even with all its weakness and sin His Kingdom slogs along. The tiny mustard seed has grown to fill the garden. The church has perfected the art of winning through weakness and failure. Even after all she has endured at the hands of wicked men, inside and outside the church, by His grace she stands. We are the apple of His eye and there’s never a situation that is hopeless with our heavenly Father.

That means as a citizen of God’s Kingdom we are to persevere in the victory wrought for us by Christ, knowing our labors in the Lord are never in vain. We occupy and assert Christ’s Lordship as our loving Savior, gracious Lawgiver and final Judge. In Christ we are part of an everlasting, unshakable kingdom that shall not be moved and will never end.

As a citizen of the United States we are part of an exceptional country. We have been blessed to be in a country rooted in Christian liberty and justice. Not a perfect country as there are none and never will be. Rather, by God’s grace, we have inherited a sure foundation, more sure than any other nation on earth.

Yet, in one short generation we have sold our spiritual birthright. Secularism, New Age, and man made religions have robbed us of Christ as King. In Him are found all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. We are so spiritually and morally blind we can’t decide who belongs in what bathroom. We’ve charged $21 trillion on our children’s credit card and killed over 60 million babies.

As a citizen of two kingdoms, one earthly and temporal and one earthly, heavenly and eternal, we can feel the heightening tension. Christians are naturally patriotic because we love so much of our Christian heritage. But secular elites, who could never create such a wonderful system of government on their own godless principles, have hijacked ours. They are intentionally undermining us in virtually every sphere of life, even in the liberal church!

Bottom line: Jesus is still firmly on the throne and He is ruling the nations with His rod of iron. If American will “kiss the Son” and return to her foundations she may continue for one hundred more years. But if she continues to reject Him, He will smash us in His righteous anger, and rightly so. Remember 9/11? It can get ugly very fast. Unless the Lord guard the city the watchmen watch in vain!

To whom much is given much is expected. God has given great spiritual and material blessings to the United States, but we seem very determined to walk away from Him. Barring a great heaven-sent national revival we’ve got a real bumpy road ahead.

“He does all things well for His own glory and for the good of His people.”

Eh? What you mean like all knowingly setting everyone up to fail and then judging them after the fact?

There are many evil set ups in the Bible to choose from. Eg. All knowingly planting the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the garden of Eden, despite knowing the outcome. All knowingly playing favourites setting up Cain against Abel, knowing it would result in the first murder. Drowning the entire world for the actions of a few.

If only you could think before you dropped yourselves right in it. An all knowing creator god, would have no need to judge at all, let alone after the fact. It would know everything before it happens and would be the only IT who could change the outcome, but does not. Such a being would be more evil than all the demons you can imagine combined.
