Sacrament of the Sick: A Prayerful Commotion
Whispered prayers mix with falling tears, raw emotion bursts forth with the arrival of grief, who skulks by deaths opening door; pain writes its name upon the hearts present, hearts invested with great love, this sacrament is filled with prayerful commotion.
Rosary beads are wrapped around stilling hands, offering a helping hand, a comforting sound in the fading of the light, in the end of the struggle of life’s stubborn fight; for soon this soul is to take its leave of this green earth, and recognising it’s eternal worth, soar in flight towards intoxicating brightness, whose clarity reveals the heart of love’s mystery, moving away from the place where pilgrimage stops and surveys the past journey so briefly, remembering the toil and the joy of a lived humanity, closing human eyes peer into the eyes of divinity, moving forward, strengthened by the grace of prayerful commotion.
This sacrament is soulfully reassuring, keeping a sacred communication, oil, more than mere sign or symbol, is brushed so tenderly across a willing forehead, that bows meekly to inevitability, inviting Christ’s presence in reality: Peace descends amidst the tribulation, here mercy fulfils her description as a deep endless ocean, this sacrament is a reverence of silence, administered amidst the chatter of prayerful commotion.
