California: Legislature Passes Measure Ordering Pastors to Support Homosexuality

The church is under attack in California. The California State Legislature passed a measure ordering Pastors and religious leaders to support homosexuality and stop preaching against it.

In part of the resolution, the church along with conservative religious leaders and counselors were blamed for the high suicide rates among those who identify as LGBT. From CBN News:

The California State Assembly has passed a resolution telling pastors to affirm homosexuality in violation of their biblical beliefs.

Assemblyman Evan Low and three dozen other lawmakers pushed the resolution in the state Assembly Judiciary Committee that’s aimed at telling religious leaders in California what they should preach from their pulpits.

Response: The measure still has to pass the state Senate and get a signature from the governor. If it passes both houses it is a foregone conclusion that Gov. Newsom would sign the measure.

While the resolution does not have any penalties attached to it, it is just the beginning and it should be challenged. The California legislators have declared war on First Amendment along with Pastors, Christian counselors, and the Church. Numerous churches are already in the midst of lawsuits against a state mandate that requires all health insurance policies to include coverage for elective abortion, even those for churches and religious institutions.                 *Top
