Το απόγευμα Τετάρτης, 18ης Σεπτεμβρίου 2019, ο Οικουμενικός Πατριάρχης Βαρθολομαίος έφθασε στην Επαρχία Lungro της Καλαβρίας, Κάτω Ιταλίας, όπου η έδρα της Ιταλο-αλβανικής Εκκλησίας, προσκαλεσμένος να συμμετάσχει στην Εκατονταετηρίδα της. Αυτή η Εκκλησία, επίσης ονομαζόμενη Ιταλοβυζαντινή ή Ιταλοελληνική Εκκλησία είναι μια ομοσπονδία από τις τρεις περιοχές της δικαιοδοσίας της Ρωμαιοκαθολικής Εκκλησίας στην Ιταλία, στις οποίες η Θ. Λειτουργία τελείται σύμφωνα κατά το βυζαντινό τυπικό.
Οι τοπικές αρχές χαρακτηρίζουν την Πατριαρχική επίσκεψη “ιστορική” και αποδίδουν στον Οικουμενικό Πατριάρχη εξαιρετικές τιμές.

Το σημερινό πρόγραμμα του Πατριάρχου έχει ως εξής:

Giovedì 19 settembre, alle ore 10, Sua Santità Bartolomeo I sarà accolto nella Cattedrale della SS. Achiropita da S. E. l’Arcivescovo di Rossano-Cariati Mons. Giuseppe Satriano, dai sacerdoti e dai fedeli della diocesi.

A suggello dello storico momento, l’Arcidiocesi di Rossano-Cariati e il Museo Diocesano e del Codex hanno organizzato l’evento “Sfogliando il Codex”, prestigiosa cerimonia che prevede lo sfoglio di una pagina del Codex Purpureus Rossanensins, il prezioso evangelario greco miniato del VI secolo custodito nel Museo e riconosciuto dall’UNESCO bene patrimonio dell’umanità.

Programma:

Ore 10:00 Arrivo del Patriarca nella Cattedrale di Maria SS.ma Achiropita Odi della Paraklisis alla Madre di Dio e saluto dell’Arcivescovo, Mons. Giuseppe Satriano

Ore 11:00 Cerimonia dello Sfoglio del Codex Purpureus Rossanensis nella sala Codex – Museo Diocesano e del Codex
