-DNC Favors ‘Non-Religious’ and Warns Against ‘Religious Liberty’

The Democratic National Committee recently passed a resolution favoring the ‘religiously unaffiliated’ as one of the most important groups of Americans since they “overwhelmingly share the current Democratic Party’s values.” Meanwhile, the DNC resolution warned against the religious who use their ‘religious liberty’ to oppose the party’s policies. Last month, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) passed a resolution praising the religiously unaffiliated, saying their values align with those of the Democratic Party and recognizing them as the largest religious group in that party. Yet the resolution also took up arms against “misplaced claims” of “religious liberty,” warning that religious freedom threatens the “civil rights and liberties” of many liberal interest groups.

    “[T]hose most loudly claiming that morals, values, and patriotism must be defined by their particular religious views have used those religious views, with misplaced claims of ‘religious liberty,’ to justify public policy that has threatened the civil rights and liberties of many Americans, including but not limited to the LGBT community, women, and ethnic and religious/nonreligious minorities,”

Response: This is an unfortunate and dangerous resolution leaving those of us who are ‘religious,’ especially Christians, with only one national political party that still respects the First Amendment and religious liberty.

Increasingly Democrat party leaders have made it plain that they don’t want anything to do with God or conservative Christian values and views. During the last presidential convention the delegates obviously declined to support a resolution ‘for’  God and more recently in the Democrat dominated Congress they have kicked the Bible out and no longer require those giving testimony to reference God.

Then time and time again major Democrat leaders in the Senate have opposed Christians nominated for office by the Trump administration because of their beliefs even though the Constitution rejects any kind of ‘Religious Test. Also the democrat lead Congress passed a bill that could ‘criminalized’ Christian views on marriage and sexuality. Now with this resolution, the DNC has made it very plain that they oppose the ‘religious liberty’ of those who may oppose their values and policies.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE recognizes:

1. The value, ethical soundness, and importance of the religiously unaffiliated demographic, a group of Americans who contribute in innumerable ways to the arts, sciences, medicine, business, law, the military, their communities, the success of the Party and prosperity of the Nation; and

2. That religiously unaffiliated Americans are a group that, as much as any other, advocates for rational public policy based on sound science and universal humanistic values and should be represented, included, and heard by the Party.

I guess those of us who are Christians and believers in the teaching of the Bible no longer qualify as those who are ‘ethically sound.’ Not only that, but our continuing use of our Constitutional rights for ‘religious liberty’ is now considered to be a threat to the modern Democratic Party and America itself according to the current DNC leaders?               *Top
