Easter Sense

An Easter sense?

Transforming

I suppose,

an awareness that love grows,

capturing the miracle that is Christ rising,

Easter enables the fulness of creation.

Adding a splash of colour, to proceedings

invading the mundane, lightening the grey,

illuminating the monochrome way,

Ascension removes the façade

banishes superficial bon accord,

stripping back pretence until only truth remains

naked, waiting for the clothes of love,

to complement, to bring about our desired salvation.

Faith is wrapped upon grateful bones, and finite dust,

Received in humility, by a bowed head, in eager trust

Releasing the fresh soothing breeze of the paraclete,

The advocate, the way to the mercy seat

A sudden understanding that all is indeed complete!

Enabling a hopeful encounter,

in the midst of life’s calm seas and tempestuous storms,

stopping still, accepting the shattering thunder of welcome silence.

Revealing for ages unending, the majesty of Christ’s risen presence

Thrilling wonderful, mesmerizingly joyful, the Easter sense.
