Here is an example of a great soul who overcame a deep affliction of the body towards self-sanctity as well an example for many. It is a good lesson of faith, hope and charity (love) for the to day’s multitudes of the “In God we don’t trust” which is full of envy, bitterness and revendications against any crosses that God gives as a gift towards a (modest and humble) participation to the co-Redemption.
St. Hermann Contractus (?) unknown to me, thanks to the contribution of CNA – Saint of the Day (Reporter) shared some similarities with the God-man who chose to arrive on earth in poverty in order to set in a consistent way a painful life ment to finish the horrible life on the Cross towards the triumphant Redemption. St. Hermann Contractus also arrived on earth in the sort of physical poverty which was of being born cripple. The saint had to live a very unpleasant life, which, instead of an expected “bitterness” seem to have propelled his soul towards the highest spheres of what makes a generous soul. His contributions as a scholar are measurable, but his contributions as a victim soul will be understood only in the eternal life.
