Children cry as death stalks their wilderness.
Destroying their habitat, leaving only brokenness.
Hunger ravishes, decimates their occupied existence.
In the dirt of exploded ruins nothing makes any sense.
Homes bombed to pieces; lives’ torn from the earth.
All in the land that witnessed Christ’s humble birth.
Bethlehem bows its head for Herod rages again.
It is the innocent who suffer at the hands of vengeful men.
