Pope Francis.

I had a dream.
I was walking on a rock  in space.
I called to the pilot of the spacecraft high above me, “Time to get off.”
His name was Pope John Paul II.

He slowly descended, hovering just low enough  to drop a rope ladder and I quickly ascended into the spacecraft.
“Is he still there?” I asked, desperate now as I had been away on this rock in space unable to bear the smell of his papacy.
JP II nodded and slumped in his chair.
The ship sailed off into the night of space.
We both fell silent.
The earth was cursed for what reason we knew not.
As it came in view we saw fires burning, smoke pouring out of it, it seemed to do a silly dance and rocked from side to side.
Then it exploded into a million pieces, 10,000 of which heading our way – we were dazzled by the light that emanated from the explosion but not blinded by it, as we surfed the shock wave caused by the blast which took us up to heaven and God standing at the doorway, an amused look on his face. Why didn’t you call he said. I would have sent an exterminator to get rid of him, why didn’t you call? We were sad but not amused at his forthrightness. The whole thing had been over in a few seconds.
Don’t worry I will make a new heaven and a new earth God said. The devils will be chained in hell, unable to reach the earth and crawl on their bellies all over it as they have done for the past 7000 years. You will join with me and the souls of 7,000,000,000 as we reinhabit it, free from sin, free from pollution and free from stain. This all happened in a few minutes.
I said Hey God, it took you 7 days to make it the first time! He replied, oye vey, I wasn’t in a rush back then.
The dream ended. I woke up, looked outside and the world was reborn.
There were birds singing, children playing. The sun was shining and there was no fema camp in sight.

We lowered the blinds, me and my wife, turned on the radio and heard music so beautiful, as if angels were singing  ……..  the chorus was always the same – Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Our God has come. Holy, holy, holy. Forever and ever.
