AMERIKA - ABC's 1987 miniseries about a post EMP America Ruled by Russia

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

I just found out about this and wanted to share. Amerika the miniseries features an EMP attack via 4 nukes released in the upper atmosphere (as shown in the novel) black helicopters, tattletale squads, America divided into 12 zones (think of Nixon’s 10 which is identical to FEMA’s 10 and the EPA’s 10) a remaining American leadership puppeteered by the Russians, joint training excercises between the Russians and UN peacekeeping forces meant to terrorize and intimidate Americans, and much more.

ABC avoided showing how the “bloodless takeover” aka coup happened, instead they went straight for the predictive programming of the characters 10 years after the takeover, so you, the viewing audience, could emulate their behaviour like good pascified slaves.

I suggest you see what FREEMAN of FREEMANTV has to say about ABC’s owners. Basically ABC is owned by Disney, which if you havent already noticed is a purely satanic outfit. Walt Disney himself a 33rd degree Mason (after the 30th level they KNOW they worship Lucifer, and agree to attack in anyway possible all non-masons, Walt chose media)

From the wikipedia page about the show:

Amerika – suggesting a Russified name for the United States – is an American television miniseries that was broadcast in 1987 on ABC. The miniseries inspired a novelization entitled Amerika: The Triumph of the American Spirit. Amerika starred Kris Kristofferson, Mariel Hemingway, Sam Neill, Robert Urich, and a 17-year-old Lara Flynn Boyle in her first major role. Amerika was about life in the United States after a bloodless takeover engineered by the Soviet Union. Not wanting to depict the actual takeover, ABC Entertainment president Brandon Stoddard set the miniseries ten years after the event, focusing on the demoralized American people a decade after the Soviet conquest. The intent, he later explained, was to explore the American spirit under such conditions, not to portray the conflict of the Soviet coup.

Described in promotional materials as “the most ambitious American miniseries ever created,” Amerika aired for 14½ hours (including commercials) over seven nights (beginning February 15, 1987), and reportedly cost US$40 million to produce. The miniseries was filmed in Toronto, London, Ontario,[1] and Hamilton, Ontario,[2] as well as various locations in Nebraska – most notably the small town of Tecumseh, which served as “Milford,” the fictional setting for most of the series. Donald Wrye was the executive producer, director, and writer of Amerika, while composer Basil Poledouris scored the miniseries, ultimately recording (with the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra) eight hours of music – the equivalent of four feature films.

Genesis

Amerika has an indirect connection to another notable ABC program, the 1983 television film The Day After, which some critics felt was too pacifist for portraying the doctrine of nuclear deterrence as pointless. Stoddard cited a column in the Los Angeles Herald Examiner by Nixon speechwriter (and later, television personality,) Ben Stein that appeared a few weeks before The Day After aired. Stein wrote, in part:

…since my dear friends at ABC-TV have made a TV movie very rightly describing the terror of an atomic attack on America, perhaps they might consider something else. Perhaps they might make a TV movie about why the people of the United States face such a dreadful risk. They might make a movie about what life in the United States would be like if we lived under Soviet domination. Here is the idea: Let’s have a movie called “In Red America.” It would be about a few days or weeks in the life of several American families after the Soviet Union had taken over America.

Stoddard acknowledged that Stein’s remarks provided the inspiration for the series. Stein received a quitclaim deed from ABC for the idea for Amerika and otherwise was not involved in its production.[3] Originally envisioned as a four-hour made-for-TV movie entitled “Topeka, Kansas, U.S.S.R.”, the project soon was expanded into a miniseries.

Backstory

In the late 1980s, as the decline of the Soviet Union puts it in danger of losing the Cold War, the Soviet leadership makes a desperate gamble to rearrange the global balance of power. Four large thermonuclear weapons are exploded in the ionosphere over the United States. The resulting electromagnetic pulse (or EMP) destroys the nation’s communications and computer systems, the electrical grid, and any equipment that relies on computer technology, such as most late-model automobiles. With its ICBMs inoperative, and the National Command Authority unable to contact U.S. military forces abroad to counterattack, America is forced to accept Soviet terms for surrender. The United States quickly falls under Soviet occupation – and the President of the United States and United States Congress become figureheads for their Soviet overseers.

The above events are implied in the miniseries, although never directly explained. The description is taken from the novelization of the miniseries, Amerika: The Triumph of the American Spirit by Brauna E. Pouns and Donald Wrye (Pocket Books, 1987), based on Wrye’s screenplay. Only a fleeting line by actor Sam Neill alludes to an America without communications, but the loss of technology is effectively presented: no radios are heard playing, television is shown only in the Soviet leaders’ offices, one scene in a church is lit completely by candlelight, and a woman is seen using an old sewing machine operated by foot pedal.

Geopolitical situation

A decade after its defeat, America is occupied by a United Nations peacekeeping force, the United Nations Special Service Unit (UNSSU). The word “unit” is occasionally omitted, suggesting that the organization may be an allegory for the SS of Nazi Germany. It is composed primarily of Eastern Bloc forces, and is overseen in Milford by an East German who is also fluent in Russian and English—Major Helmut Gurtman (played by Reiner Schöne). UNSSU troops periodically engage in combined arms “training exercises” which are destructive in nature and intimidating to the local population.

Those Americans who engage in dissent are stripped of their privileges and sent to exile camps, where they are anathema to the Soviets and their fellow citizens. Association with the exiles is prohibited, although a few brave souls risk their own remaining freedoms by offering humanitarian aid. Production quotas have been imposed, and foodstuffs rationed, with the surplus presumably being shipped to the Soviet Union.

Against this background, Bradford ascends to the leadership of Heartland, hoping to reform the Soviet occupation from within; Milford is released from the prison camp, hoping to be reunited with his children and fight against the occupation; and Denisov hopes to “salvage as much as possible” of the old America, while realizing that the U.S. essentially must cease to exist as a nation in order to appease the “old men in the Kremlin.”

CONCLUSION

If you, like myself, are noticing this TV show become reality, this is cause for concern. A TV show yes, but American media, specifically ABC has a long history of “predictive programming” disinformation, and propaganda.

After this article I suggest you look into the “Iron Mountain Report” and think about how much of that is now reality.

Did Stein claim credit for the idea behind the movie Red Dawn, which hit theaters 3 years before Amerika aired on ABC? Same basic idea, completely different execution.
