The whole El Duce angle seems a bit far-fetched, but really, it’s not like the publicity would help his career (his band was horrible). Who knows, though? His going public may be the reason he “passed out drunk, on the train tracks”. Besides, $50,000 to whack one of the most recognizable people in the world? Hoek is the type of slime ball, who would jump at the money.
Never mind (no pun intended) his “best friend” (who’s name escapes me) buying Kurt the gun, only days after he escaped from the rehab center in Rome. What kind of person buys a gun, for someone who tried to commit suicide, only days prior?
There were a lot of people who stood to get rich, off Cobain’s death. Courtney Love was just the one who stood to make the most off it. Grohl tried to block the release of the track, and the book. Unfortunately, Courtney had control over Cobain’s stake in the band, leaving Grohl and Krist Novosellic out of the decision-making process. Courtney had exclusive rights to exploit the work of what was arguably the biggest band on the planet, at the time.
Seems like motive enough, to me.
