WASHINGTON 9/5/2015 — Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin and newsman Tom Brokaw are among the authors who’ll be greeting fans at the National Book Festival.
The Library of Congress is hosting the free festival on Saturday at the Washington Convention Center.
U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera, historian David McCullough and novelist David Baldacci are also scheduled to appear.
This year’s festival celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Library of Congress acquiring Thomas Jefferson’s personal library in 1815. Those books formed the basis for building the world’s largest library.
The festival was founded by former first lady Laura Bush and was held for years on the National Mall.
