Who Exactly is QAnon?

There seems to be a lot of focus being drawn towards the posts that are published by a user by the name of QAnon, but who exactly is this person or organization, and what is their real purpose? The research that I have begun into this phenomenon seems to be very convoluted and confusing at best. First and foremost, this “screen name” has placed a barrier around the true identity of the organization or person who actually posts under this name. It certainly is easy to say anything you want when no one knows who truly said it. I understand that mentality, because I also have at least one site where I publish under a screen name, however, all the other sites I post on have my name for all to see. It appears that a type of online game platform began to take posts in only an anonymous fashion and later termed the posts and the people posting as Anons; I can see how Anon could be a shortened version of Anonymous. I understand that the Q part of the screen name was only part of a whole host of other screen names that ended in Anon. At some point in 2017, predictions were made under the name of QAnon and it gathered a huge following, which eventually branched out under other social media platforms where now they have become a bit of a household name. Many of the followers dedicate themselves to decoding the messages that QAnon posts and have also branched into a great following based on their predictions of the QAnon posts. Of course, there is quite a rich and detailed history of how QAnon came to exist; this is simply a snapshot of the path.

But what is the purpose of all these posts? Wikipedia would define it as the following as …”a far-right conspiracy theory detailing a supposed secret plot by an alleged “deep state” against U.S. President Donald Trump and his supporters. Also stated is that “…there is a worldwide cabal of Satan-worshiping pedophiles who rule the world, essentially, and they control everything. They control politicians, and they control the media. They control Hollywood, and they cover up their existence, essentially. And they would have continued ruling the world, were it not for the election of President Donald Trump.” I don’t necessarily disagree with these statements as I have been quite the conspiracy researcher for a lot of years. Many of the stories I post to alternative news websites have been littered with long posts from QAnon, so I know that this organization is really paying attention to what is going on in the world. I know from personal experience that I cannot truly prove much of what I write about, so the information that QAnon posts may very well be the same scenario. Now I would agree that much of what Q posts about is what I spend my time researching, and many of their views align closely to my views, but where are they getting their information? The Q entity has been rumored to be a group of people that are high level military, CIA and the like, with access to very high-level classified information. It certainly would be much easier and safer to post about classified information when you are pushing this out under a screen name that cannot be traced back to the source. Honestly, I would probably say much more interesting things if I had the opportunity to stay invisible on the internet.

Even though I feel like much of the information that Q posts is aligned with the topics that I currently research, I do believe that there still tends to be a lot of strange gibberish that is added. I supposed this gives people a feeling that they are trying to relay a secret message; a message that has to be decoded and deciphered to fully understand the complete story. It would be nice to think that all the followers have begun to figure out the patterns and can actually make sense of these riddles; however, I think much of the message is simply entertainment value. I will not disagree very often, however, with the topics that they discuss and push out to the public. We certainly do need an avenue for news that is not controlled by the mainstream media, because I do agree that much of this information is censored for the purposes of an agenda. This coronavirus pandemic, as it is called, is a perfect example of main stream media and the alternative news sites. There seems to be a vast difference in what is published across the mains news channels versus the alternative sites. I have seen much a much different aspect of the pandemic by researching through the websites that are managed by some of the largest and most following “conspiracy” people. I personally don’t think there any more conspiracy theories any longer, I am convinced that there are only conspiracies and that there are no theories to be found anywhere.

Well I digress….I feel like groups like QAnon are a necessary part of our world today, because we certainly need for non-public information to get out to the masses. If all we ever rely on is the main stream news, then we will certainly be limited in our understanding. Personally, I research my information on all platforms in order to figure out where my beliefs are going to land. If we all just realize that every type of “news” or “informational” message has truth and fiction intertwined within, then we can become a much more educated society. Keep on QAnon and spread the message…..
