Grilling in the Sun and on the Stove

One of my favorite summer past-times is

spending the afternoon sun bathing/tanning

Unlike Victoria, Calgary is void of beaches, which means I have to

trek over to the nearest park to lay down my towel and soak up the sun

Before you assume I’m vain for taking quite a few pictures

of myself, just know that my addiction to my camera and

photography extends well beyond images of food or nature

And after grilling in the sun for a few hours,

nothing sounded better than grilled cheese

A Grilled Cheese and Fried Egg Sandwich

With ketchup on the side

I started by spreading a little butter/margarine onto one side of bread, then

placed it into a medium hot skillet. Next, I top the dry side of bread with a slice

of processed cheddar cheese, cover with the other slice of bread, then spread a

little more butter on the top side of the bread for when I flip the sandwich over

While that cooks, I crack an egg into a small

non-stick skillet, cover, and gently cook/fry it up

When the grilled cheese sandwich is done I carefully open it up, add

the egg, season with black pepper, and put the sandwich back together

I have so much fun creating and re-inventing childhood favorites
