I am so excited, but first I must introduce myself, my name is Madison, that’s Madison Mouse.  I belong to the Wednesday baker. But Heidi Z has invited me to her christmas party so you can all meet me.   I am a little nervous since I have never done this before.  I didn’t have time to get a new fancy outfit for a party.  Andi said its alright, that I am so cute and adorable that everyone will love me just the way I am.  Do you think I am cute?  Oh, I am getting a little red in the checks!  I hope you will consider to make me, I am easy, I don’t bite, no pest control needed.  And don’t you think I would look cute sitting on your cookie platter for christmas?  Merry Christmas, and it was a pleasure to meet you.      love, Madison 

Oreo  & Cherry Dipped Christmas Mice

Oreo cookies, split using the frosted side only
Cherries with stems
Hershey Kisses
dipping chocolate or melt chocolate chips and add a little shortening to this.
Sliced almonds
red eyes, or pieces of red gum drop or decorator gel
Spice drops, red and green for the holly

Melt the dipping chocolate in a double boiler over simmering water. Dry the cherries on paper towels. Dip the cherries in the melted chocolate and tap against the side of the pan to allow the extra chocolate to drip off. Set on waxed paper and allow to set for a bit, then position the cherry on the frosted part of the oreo with the tail in position allowing enough room to put the head on his body. Using the tip of a knife put some chocolate on the flat end of the hershey kiss and press against the cherry, this is his head. Using the almond slices for his ears, dip the end in the melted chocolate and position the ears for the mouse. Using the very tip of the knife put a tiny drip of chocolate and press the eyes in position. Cut pieces of green and red gum drops to make the holly that will set beside the mouse on the cookie half. Have fun

The idea for these mice came from a friend who saw them at a local craft fair.  Who did them I do not know.
