Hardly would you find anyone who doesn’t adore boneless pork chops. Thick, succulent, and extremely tasty, these pork cuts have found a warm place in our hearts and our cookbooks. But not everyone knows boneless pork chops are just as easy to make as they’re irresistible. And that’s why we’ve prepared this guide so you can make yours without stress right in your kitchen.

Boneless pork chops can be prepared using various methods, but we find the oven-baked options most convenient. It doesn’t require many check-ups and ensures the pork chops don’t dry up as quickly as they would with other techniques. Plus, oven-baked boneless pork chops give you much flexibility in imparting flavor.

Tips for Oven-Baked Boneless Pork Chops

When making pork chops in the oven, you’ll need to keep a few tips in mind. And the reason is simple- the best boneless pork chops are juicy, tender, and delicious at every bite. So, to make sure you meet these standards, please follow these instructions;

The Right Pork Chop Thickness

Thinner pork chops will dry out quickly, as the moisture will be lost faster than the meat will take to cook. So, the best way to ensure you hit the mark every time is to consider boneless pork chops of at least one-inch thickness.

The Right Temperature

You want your boneless pork chops to cook to perfection without losing moisture or taking it out before the proper doneness. And the best temperature for a one-inch boneless pork chop is around 375F. Of course, you can’t always depend on the temperature alone, so pair this factor up with the others listed as well.

The Right Cooking Time

An average one-inch boneless pork chop will cook for about 20 minutes to cook, but as mentioned before, this factor cannot be relied upon singularly. To make sure all elements play along to give you the best boneless pork chop, use the internal temperature.

Checking Internal Temperature

When cooking a one-inch boneless pork chop at 375F for 20 minutes, you don’t have to wait until the cooking time is reached. At about halfway through the cooking time, make sure to stick a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the pork chop. By health standards, pork is considered safe to eat only when it reaches an internal temperature of 145F. So, you want to get the boneless pork chop to 140F and then take it down, so the carryover heat cooks it to 145F.

If you combine all these aspects when making your boneless pork chop in the oven, you’re sure to end up with a tender and juicy result.

Cooking Boneless Pork Chops in the Oven

To cook a boneless pork chop in the oven, these are the procedures to follow;

  • Set the oven to preheat at 375F.
  • Combine the selected spices to make a dry rub. You can use whatever combination you prefer, like paprika, chili powder, and black pepper. Other options include onion powder, oregano, Italian seasoning, cumin, garlic powder, and brown sugar.
  • Lay the pork chops in the baking sheet and drizzle or brush with some olive oil.
  • Season generously with the dry rub and slide the tray in the preheated oven.
  • Bake or roast for about 20 minutes or until the internal temperature hits 140F on a meat thermometer.
  • Take it down and leave it to rest for five to 10 minutes before serving. The resting period allows the juice to redistribute in the pork chops.
