The Second American Declaration of Independence

Many a year ago, on the fourth day of the seventh month, of one-thousand seven hundred an’ seventy-six, we the people of these United States declared ourselves independent from the tyranny of the Crown of Great Britain and its Parliament, as a result of their collective abuses against us, which include namely an unnecessary taxation and desecration of our liberties, as well as the subsequent disregard for our protests and petitions to these malfeasant actions that added the ultimate insult to injury. The announcement that we were breaking free of these atrocities commenced our glorious revolution, one that will forever dominate the 1700s and serve as the perfect cause for celebration of human freedom. ‘Twas a revolution from the aforementioned unjust governmental influence, and it began with a document, and advanced and completed by the passion of men. Now, the times again make case for another document. . .another revolution.

There are differences to note, however. We are not declaring a new nation or constitution, as that is far from being the solution to our frustrations. No, rather, we are affirming the founding principles of our current nation that enabled it to excel and become one of the freest and most populous in the world, as well as the world’s only superpower. We must at once assimilate the rebellious spirits which motivated our Founding Fathers and utilize that undying passion to absolve ourselves of the tyrannies that long ago crept into our politics and our society as a general. Though they are not yet as apparent and intrusive in our daily lives as those imposed by George III, nevertheless are unacceptable, and have been repeated throughout history in dictatorial regimes or as regimes’ predecessors. The circumstances described in such literature as Fahrenheit 451 and 1984 ought to be considered, for they are not an impossibility. When it has become clear that the Powers That Be are crippling great nations, by

sinister conspiracy or otherwise, and that the necessary connection between the people and their government ― the important notion that government is of the people ― has been severed, ignored, and even mocked by those in power, it is pertinent for those nations’ inhabitants to peaceably rebel against their corrupted, broken system and demand a redress of grievances, as is their natural right.

We are told we are a free people, but are free men and women legally (i.e. forcibly) subjected to the unnecessary morality of others? Are they ordered to abstain from substance that has unhealthful impact only on themselves, because a government has deemed it has a role in surveillance and policing of personal choice? Are they unable to be secure in their person, and effectively guilty or at least worthy of suspicion until an emission of radiation upon them, or a frisking by strangers proves them innocent, because they may be a “terrorist”? In a free society, is the writ of habeas corpus suspended for an individual whom a person in power has autonomously decided is the aforementioned “t” word, and are thus improved or slain without trial? Are free people unable to educate their children without first consulting the state and adhering to its arbitrary standards, teaching to the test, nay the material itself?

We are told we are a prosperous people, but are prosperous men and women of middle class overtaxed, and are these taxes, in prosperous societies, distributed to private corporations that are failing in order to prevent them from bankruptcy? Are these taxes used to finance foreign wars which are illegal under a country’s constitution, for they have not been declared by its legislators and serve no credible national security interest? Are prosperous people faced with an unusually epidemic issue of illegal immigration as well as the continued extension of government benefits and services to these immigrants? Is the economy of prosperous people based on debt and a fiat currency that is inflated and deflated at the whim of a private central bank, resulting in a lower worth of said currency each and every day? Is this bank the cause of recessions and never held accountable for its reckless and economically damaging actions? Does a prosperous nation have a multi-trillion dollar deficit? Does it have politicians who, for p’hraps a century or longer, have beholden themselves to corporate interests and are far more concerned with their wealth (high salary, lobbyist “donations”), and reelections, than they are with their civic duties?

There is only one correct answer to these questions and others related and that is “no.” They have practiced a trickery, addressing to the populace their nationalistic propaganda with a false sincerity and pathos. They have stolen trillions, and spent trillions, and borrowed trillions more to accommodate their invariably nonsensical handling of monies. They are responsible for the entirety of economic crises America has ever struggled through. They have posed a threat to our sovereignty and the sovereignty of others, through invasions, entangling alliances, and trade agreements. They have divided us into two political parties, and barred third parties from having, even remotely, any opportunity at election into federal offices, through the continued mainstream promotion of the former. They have kept secret many operations and sealed records and other information that the public has a right of knowledge to. They have distorted, misinterpreted or otherwise misrepresented the federal Constitution. They have excessively legislated upon us. They have limited our liberties, and they have in past used communism, and today terrorism, to justify these usurpations. They have told us what we may and may not do with our own persons. They have violated government secularity and the First Amendment by establishing religion upon the motto and coinage of the United States. They have sent our armies into needless, expensive wars for their own benefit. They have taken the constitutionally delegated power of the Congress to coin money and given it to the Federal Reserve bank. They have made our money into paper, no longer a stable gold and silver as it long was. They have allowed our foods to be irradiated, and subsequently sold. They have improperly warned us of danger, or under-assessed the magnitude of certain dangers.

We the people of the several states hereby bring it to the attention of the Powers that we are not their slaves; that we disapprove of their horrific actions which, in a court of the people v. government, would convict them of treason, and that our right to pursuit of happiness shall not be vindicated until such happiness is restored and preserved for future generations through the redress and resolving of the above grievances. We can not, and will not, support a government with as many discrepancies, inconsistencies, and injustices as they have committed.
