6 fun and easy ideas for kids rooms

The best thing about decorating kids rooms? You have more freedom with colour

use, fun furniture and decor are a must and the many crafty things you can do for

kids rooms are endless. You can make use of unused items and odds and ends

from around the home, and if the kids are older enough to help, creating something

for their own rooms is a fun and rewarding activity.

Cheap shelving can be bought at hardware stores, Ikea and two dollar shops.

Display keepsakes, toys, art and books. Painting clouds behind the shelves is a really fun

idea and great for nurseries if you don’t know if the baby will be a boy or a girl.

Hanging up fairy lights or lanterns is a very quick and easy way to transform a kids room

into a magical playland and also a restful cosy kids room at night. There are so many to

choose from these days and most are between $8-$23 click here to see the variety.

For an amazing wall feature and a way you can show off all those masterpieces, create

a series of balsa wood brackets. Various lengths are available from hardware stores plus

the double sided tape to attach them to the wall. Design the layout on paper first then

measure and pencil it onto the wall. Glue (strong glue) small plastic clips to the frames.

A black board is a fun and interesting feature to a kids room, and can stay a feature into

their teens so you can write subtle reminders, like to clean their rooms etc. Any paint shop would have blackboard paint, that can be applied to many surfaces. You can be creative and paint all sorts of items, you can really use your imagination with black board paint.
