Beading tutorial on how to use donuts
Spread open the two loops of the bail over your donut stone and bend them against the stone until they are aligned in the center of the donut.
Open a jump ring by grasping with the flat-nose pliers and twisting apart.
Attach the open jump ring to one of the large loop sides. Close by twisting together until the ends of the jump ring touch.
Add beads to the headpins, leaving about one-quarter inch at the top of the headpin. Bend this into a loop using the tip of your round-nose jewelry pliers. Thread the loop through the jump ring and close with the flat-nose pliers. Add as many jump rings and beaded headpins as desired.
If making earrings, use two identical donuts. Decorate both with beaded headpins as in Step 4. Open a jump ring and attach it to the top loop of the decorated donut bail. Attach the jump ring to the ear wire and close with the flat-nose pliers, making sure that the decorated donut is facing the right way. Repeat with the second ear wire.
For a pendant, open a jump ring into the loop at the top of the donut bail. Close by twisting with the flat-nose pliers. Hang your pendant from this jump ring on a length of chain, ribbon or cord to finish your necklace.
