BLACK + DECKER Big Finish Progress

Hey guys…

As you know, I’m participating in the BLACK + DECKER Big Finish initiative. I have selected our guest bathroom to attack with some changes, so that it finally feels finished to me.

I checked with a designer friend of mine this morning, to get the name of a great stone yard, and hope to be able to go there today. Woo! (also I just checked with Jordan to make sure he’s cool with me changing out the countertop. Thankfully, he’s pretty easy going about all my design changes around here) I want to get something that looks like Cararra marble. Something lighter than the gray Cararra that’s in the shower area, so that there is at least a little contrast. I also plan to add trim around the mirror, but I don’t think that will be hard.

I have been spending a little time this morning looking around for a cute rug. I feel a little stupid, because I bought a red Oriental rug for this space last year. It never felt quite right though, so I think I’ll move yet somewhere else in the house. Just incase you forgot, here’s what the space looks like now:

Which one do you guys like best?! I like one and two, because they are both really similar to the inspiration photos that I am using for the redesign. Bright colors! I’ve got a thing for ‘em.

I like option three, just because it’s weird. A little offbeat and a little weird, in the color choices. I think my favorite right now is 2. Tell me what you think — I need to order one today… the BLACK + DECKER Big Finish is over on December 10! Yikes, I’ve got to get myself in line.

I also need to select fabric for a new shower curtain – that will be easy, I think. I will probably just make one myself.

Anyway… wish me luck! And don’t forget to let me know which rug you like.
