‘Laissez les bons temps rouler!’ (Let the good times roll) is what Louisiana state officials exclaim in writing to oil and gas industry profiteers, inviting them to eat, drink and be merry at an upcoming conference they are sponsoring for Big Energy, while the state’s monster, oil and gas man-made sinkhole is swallowing part of the state.
“YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THE BLUE ROOM FOR A NEW ORLEANS STYLE JAZZ RECEPTION FEATURING AN AUTHENTIC JAZZ GROUP AND DELICIOUS FOOD AND DRINK,” reads the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources’ DNR)
invitation to oil and gas industry folks, adding, “Laissez les bons temps rouler!”
Meanwhile, the manmade (oil and gas industry-caused) 24-acre Louisiana sinkhole in Bayou Corne is out of control with thousands of industry-triggered earthquakes and flammable gas spewing, people suffering, and their govenor, Bobby Jindal, forsaking them.
“No wonder they do not have time to go to Bayou Corne,” said one concerned South Louisiana resident, Glo Conlin, in an email Saturday morning. “The Louisiana Dept. of Natural Resources, Dept. of Environmental Quality, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Department of Wildlife & Fisheries offered this party or conference for the oil and gas companies.”
The DNR is issuing more permits for oil and gas industry companies to continue their profitable storing of chemicals in the crippled 1-mile by 3-mile Napoleonville Salt Dome where the historic sinkhole is devouring the environment and justifiably causing residents to live in fear of an explosion and being swallowed by the sinkhole in a Lake Peigneur-type salt dome catastrophe.
Where will the upcoming conference accomodations be? Straight from the conference brochure, we see:

“You made a pit stop there seven months after the hole became an issue, but , only after homeowners started to complain about your refusal to make an appearance,” Bayou Buzz reported today.
Despite locals and other critics across the nation saying about Jindal’s outrageous neglect of people negatively impacted by the sinkhole, Gov. Bobby Jindal’s internal polling still puts his approval rating at 50 percent in Louisiana,
